I was able to make some slight changes to my blog. I have to make more updates, so there will be changes to the look and feel over this weekend. The current site is just temporary, so I hope you will bear with me. I took the first steps in my weight challenge, I downloaded an app called My Fitness Pal. You enter information about yourself and then your goal. Then you can use it on a daily basis to track your caloric intake. You can log the food you are eating and it tells you how many calories the food is and subtracts it from your goal. The first day for me was shocking. My eyes were opened. I realized that I was drinking half my caloric intake through sodas and juices. I have all this focus on developing consciousness, but I wasn’t paying as much attention to what I have been ingesting. So, it is all water and occasional juice on my splurge day. Yes, I allow myself a splurge day (which will be my first day since I went so far over my calories). I don’t believe in complete restriction. I will allow myself to have one day where I don’t have to think about it and I can eat what I want. In the past, what I have found is that even on splurge day I never went crazy. I know that eventually I will get back to just needing a bite or two to satisfy the urge.
I’m hoping to reduce some of the stress in my life as well. I think I’ve become a stress-eater. I’ve been under so much stress that I’m hoping to alleviate it. I always found yoga to be relaxing, so I think that will become my drug of choice along with meditation. I want to immerse myself and try things that I haven’t as well.
