Who Do You Think You Are? Be Careful What You Speak into Your Life.

“Whatever follows ‘I am’ is going to come looking for you.”- Joel Osteen

On Sunday, I watched Oprah’s LifeClass with Pastor Joel Osteen. I had a few breakthroughs while watching the show, but the above quote was my ah-a moment. The Pastor talked about words and how you speak things into your life. When you use the words, “I am”, you are calling whatever follows into your life. You are placing an order with the Universe.

We, often, mindlessly call experiences into our lives by speaking words that simply aren’t true about ourselves.

For example:

I’m broke

I’m fat

I’m ugly

I’m going to be lonely forever

I’m stupid

I’m unlucky

When you say these types of things, you are asking for the very thing that you don’t want. It’s important to speak into your life what you want instead of don’t want. T.D. Jakes said, “whatever you feed will grow.” If you feed the negativity, the negativity will grow in your life. If you feed your dreams, they will grow. It’s not about being in denial. If you don’t have money, you can’t go crazy and spend your money like you have a million dollars. But, it’s about speaking into your life a better outlook and a prayer for the future.

For example:

I am open to abundance.

I am healthy.

I am beautiful.

I am ready for the person that is for me.

I am learning more about life every day.

I am grateful.

It’s not just about changing your outlook. It’s about finding facts to support your new truth. If you look back on your life, you will find moments in your life where you were supported. There are moments when things came together in a way that was beyond your control but at the exact time you needed it. There are times when you knew something was going to happen and it did.  There are times when you found yourself stuck and something came along and helped you move forward.

You have to find the supporting facts that prove your mind wrong when it says, “I am not…” Because the truth is that you are. The Universe wants to work in your favor. It will conspire to give you what you think you deserve. Raise your expectations. When you tell the Universe who you are, it will believe you because you believe it. Change your beliefs and your life will change. You have to fix the inner to affect the outer. You can start with: I am love.
